Website maintenance and support for your business

I help small and medium-sized businesses across Ontario with the website updates and fixes they haven’t had time to deal with.

That might mean changing service details, adding content or investigating a form that’s stopped working. I’ll review your site and let you know what I can take on before we agree on the work.

Take care of the changes that keep getting put off

Your hours may have changed, a team member needs adding, and there’s still an old offer on the homepage. Small updates can pile up while you’re busy running the business.

We can arrange a way for you to send those requests and review the changes, so the information on the site stays current.

You can bring a list of updates or start with a particular issue you need help resolving.

What I can help with

Once I’ve reviewed your setup, I can quote for tasks such as:

  • Content updates. Change text, images, contact details, service information or other existing content.
  • Small additions. Add a section or page that fits the current site, with the work defined before it begins.
  • Links and forms. Investigate broken links or problems with an inquiry form and its connections.
  • Layout fixes. Address issues with how agreed pages display or behave on different screen sizes.
  • Platform upkeep. Review maintenance needs for the systems your site uses and identify which tasks I can take on.
  • Checks after changes. Confirm the requested update is in place and test the parts of the site affected by the work.

I’ll review the site’s setup before committing to particular tasks. That helps us establish what access is needed and whether another provider needs to be involved.

A straightforward way to handle requests

For example, if you’re introducing a new service, you might send the details and an image you’d like to use. We’d agree on where the information belongs, confirm the work and review the change before it goes live where appropriate.

Afterwards, I’d check the updated content, relevant links and layout, then let you know what was completed and whether anything needs further attention.

If you need help regularly, we’ll decide how to submit requests and which work the arrangement covers.

Arranging support

Send me your site and the jobs you have in mind. I’ll look at the platform, hosting and access needed, then explain what I can support, the cost and the proposed timing. If another provider needs to be involved, we’ll establish that too.

As the work is completed, I’ll check the affected pages or features and confirm what was done. You may only need help with this list, or you may want an arrangement for recurring updates. We can discuss that once we know what the site needs.

A few common questions

Can you support a website you didn’t build?

I can review it to see whether it’s a good fit. The platform, existing setup and available access will determine what I can support. We’ll establish that before agreeing on the work.

Can I request updates as I need them?

We can discuss occasional requests or a recurring arrangement. The quote will explain how work is agreed, scheduled and charged, so you know what to expect.

Is hosting included?

Hosting is a separate part of the website setup. We’ll confirm who manages it and whether any hosting-related work is included. Backups, monitoring and software licences also need to be specifically agreed.

What happens if something is urgent or turns into a bigger job?

We’ll discuss availability and how urgent requests should be handled when setting up support. If a task needs more work than the agreed scope covers, I’ll explain what’s involved and provide a separate quote before proceeding with that additional work.

Planning a bigger change?

Ongoing Website Consulting can help you decide which improvements deserve attention first. If your site needs a broader rethink, Website Design & Redesign covers planning and building the next version.
